911 from Century Link Down

"911 calls from landlines on Century Link won't go through. In case of an emergency, call 911 on your CELL phone."
Kind of scary. The only reason some keep a landline IS in case of an emergency.

LVRApparently last night a cut cable on the Century Link phone network disrupted local and 911 phone service. Phone lines at the police department were not working, so calling 908-876-3232 gave you a busy signal. The situation was resolved and phone service has been restored.
