Sandwich!

I'm hungry for an amazing sandwich. Give me a recommendation and where to get it. Can be in or near Long Valley.

Brian's in Hackettstown has the best roast beef ever. Try a sandwich with horseradish dressing on the side. Actually, I should post this on the "addictions" thread on HL.

Black River General Store in Pottersville! Roasts their own roast beef, huge italian subs with amazing peppers and in the winter they make wonderful soups with their own stock (who does that anymore!). Bread in from NY every day!

If you don't know where Pottersville is, the back way, which is fun to take this time of year, is Old Farmers Road to left onto Black River road (winds along the river) to the end in Pottersville, make a left and store is on the right!

Pottersville is in 3 counties, Morris, Somerset and Hunterdon, a great little town!

Enjoy!

Not only are the Sandwiches fresh at the Black river General Store, they are very generous with the portions of cold cuts on the sanwich. I will be trying the Roast Beef, thanks for the tip.
Does the Black River General Store Cater parties too?

By the way, did you know that every Christmas the town of Pottersville is magically transformed in Bedford Falls? You must drive through Pottersville at Christmas time and see it for yourself.

Piggys on RT 57 cuts everything fresh. It was very good

Once Upon a Table on Main St in Chester has great sandwiches. 2 of my faves: black forest ham with brie on pumpernickel and turkey with walnuts, granny smith apple slices, cranberry relish and havarti on some kind of yummy bread. Oh forgot about another fave- their proscuitto with buffalo mozz on foccacia....my mouth is watering. They have great chicken sandwiches, too. The sandwiches are HUGE- each can serve 2 people.

Give the Cozy Cafe at the bottom of Schooley's Mnt a try.

I'm still working on trying all of these, but I visited the Millburn Deli recently and they make a pretty mean sandwich. Obviously, the trip is far, but if you are in the area, you should try it.

Flanders Bagels has a delightful selection of sangwiches! The Howard Stern (Flander's Bagels own chicken salad with cheddar cheese and bacon) is still my ultimate fave. They have a selection of sangwiches named after random celebrities. Even the Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese on a bagel is delish!

Flanders Bagel used to be a required stop, but ever since it was sold, the customer service hasn't been the same.

Hot Bagels opened in Flanders in the strip mall on 206 across from the Golf Zone - They have always done a great job in Hackettstown and the one time we went there it was just as great!

I agree with BBD on Piggy's. I go there all the time and every time it's done fast and right.

The prices are reasonable too! It's even better that you can call it in before you leave and when you get there it's already done!

I like Krauzers sandwiches. Danielle makes a thick sandwich with special sauce on the side.
