Dance studios

Art of Dance in Chester, www.artofdance.org, only 10 minutes from Long Valley. They teach a wide variety of dance styles starting at age 3 1/2 up to adult classes, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, irish etc. Depending on the level of commitment a parent or child would like, one can take individual classes or 'audition' for their competition team starting at age 6. Over the summer they offer week long dance camps as well as classes.

Their 'company' dancers were selected for a second year in a row to perform at the Astair Awards in NY City, the only children to perform at such an event! We may be an hour from NY, but AOD is known in the NY dance community and they even bring in talent from NY as instructors for the classes as well as their camps!

My daughter loves it there, she has been in the 'Company' for 2 years, dancing ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop:)

I heard North Jersey School of dance was good, we where going to enroll our DD but there schedule was very difficult to work with i assume they assume all parents of 3 year olds are stay at home moms :( and can come weekdays no night or weekends avail for her age group (3)
