Washington Township discovers oil in brook

The Morris County Hazmat team is investigating an oil spill in the Long Valley section of the township.

The spill was traced back to the rear of a residence in Sherwood Village, according to Lt. Art Adams.

Residents do not have anything to worry about at this time, said James Deacon, who works for the Morris County Office of Health Management.

“As of now, it was just a surface spill,” Deacon said.
