Help me get there!

I have a question. I will be in Manhattan in October, and I want ot come to Long Valley to visit some friends and see the town. The problem is that I will not have accress to a car. Is there a train or some other reasonably priced mode of transportation that can get me from Manhattan to Long Valley and back?
